John Woollums, 74, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife, Linda on October 24, 2024. Cremation rites have been accorded. No services will be held at this time.
John was born in 1950 in Creston, Iowa to Raymond and Helen (Lauffer) Woollums. The family moved around a lot and he attended Interstate 35, Winterset and graduated from Norwalk High School. He met his "perfect" woman, Linda as a junior in high school. They were married in 1970. They had two children, Nikki and Rob who blessed them with four grandchildren.
John loved fishing, hunting and boating. He loved bringing the grandchildren along on these adventures and they loved driving his boat.
After attending Lincoln Technicial College, he worked for Frye Copy Systems until the late 1980's. Then worked at Roberts Dairy, where he was a maintenance mechanic, until his "retirement" in 2004.
John is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Nikki (Bobby) Seward of Winterset, Iowa and Rob (Lynn) Woollums of Johnston, Iowa; three grandsons, Jacob Bakerink, Jackson Bakerink and Carter Woollums; one granddaughter, Addison "Nugget" Woollums; siblings, Jim (Dianne) Woollums and Janette (Rob) Mathews; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna (Rick) Bussanmas and Debbie (Pat) Scholer. As well as several nieces, nephews and their families.
John was preceded in death by his parents and Linda's parents, Kenneth and Vivian Essick.
Memorials may be directed to the family, that will be designated at a later time.
Online condolences are welcome at www.IlesCares.com.
