Mr. John "Joe" Wright passed away Friday evening, August 1, 2025, surrounded by his family and best friends at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was 53 years old. He was born in California on October 19, 1971. Joe loved life! He had a great love for reading, science fiction and most of all of his love and obsession with Star Wars, so much that his fur babies were named after characters of the movies, "Obi" his faithful dog and "Padame" his adoring cat. Joe also enjoyed watching the TV show, Ridiculousness" whenever he got the chance. He had a wonderful sense of humor and genuinely loved people.

Joe worked at Lowe's in Hartselle for 20+ years as a certified forklift operator and adored his "work family". His family would like to thank all of them for their love, support and visits to the hospital to spend time with him, it meant the world to him.

Joe is survived by his wife of 28 years, Tina Drinkard Wright; son, Dustin (Abby) Bailey; brother, John "Mouse" Wright and three beautiful grandchildren, Aleyah, Jurnee and Sofia Bailey.

Joe will be terribly missed by all who had the opportunity to have him in their life.

Yesterday

I 1st met Joe back in 1992 through a friend-a group of us filmed movies, & participated in back yard wrestling, he played several entertaining characters as well as wrestling in the ring. Joe was very creative, humorous, loved to push the envelope, could often be outrageous, lewd, crude-but all in good humor!-he loved animals-and they loved him! I simply can't say enough about him but was fortunate to have been his friend & to visit him a couple of times before he passed. You'll be missed 'Logan', 'Firgo', 'Will Carpenter'-to quote Joe in one of his best character portrayels 'The END Chico!'
