John E. Yeager

John Eston Yeager, of Benton, Illinois, passed away on September 28, 2025, at 3:15 p.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

He is survived by his sister, Gloria (John) Manske of New Berlin, Wisconsin; his brother, Ron (Marcy) Yeager of West Frankfort, Illinois; his nephews, Johnathan (Chelsea) Yeager of West Frankfort and Zack (Jennifer) Yeager of Herrin, Illinois; his niece, Presley Yeager of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; his great-nephew, Jensen Yeager; and his great-niece, Everleigh Yeager.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Delane Yeager and Iva Erlene Yeager of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

John worked for many years as a sound technician with the TBN television network and 3ABN television network, where he used his skills and love of music to support broadcast productions until his retirement.

He will be remembered for the deep love he carried for his family and the joy he found in life's passions. He had a lifelong love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, fast and luxurious cars, and his dogs, especially Basset Hounds and Huskies. He enjoyed music, from the soulful rhythms of Blues and the energy of Rock to the comfort of Southern Gospel. John also had a gift for laughter-bringing smiles to those around him came naturally and was one of his greatest joys.

Most recently, John made his home at Helia Healthcare of Benton, where he was cared for by a compassionate staff he greatly appreciated and truly loved. His warmth, humor, and love for life will be missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stone Funeral Home, 1201 East Poplar Street, West Frankfort, IL 62896.

The visitation will be held at Stone Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Following the time of visitation, the memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.

For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to "Franklin County Animal Control." Envelopes will be available and accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed c/o Stone Funeral Home, 1201 East Poplar Street, West Frankfort, IL 62896.
