Ronald Allan Doty

Ronald Allan Doty, known affectionately as Ronnie by family and Ron by friends, passed away peacefully in his home Friday, January 16, 2026.

Ronnie graduated from Zeigler-Royalton High School in 1983 and was a United States Army Veteran. He was immensely proud of his service to his country and spoke of it fondly.

After his time in the military ended, Ronnie worked in several factories throughout Southern Illinois and spent as much time as he could with family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and riding dirt bikes and four wheelers.

He is survived by his only daughter, Brittany Doty; grandson, Parker of Texas; his son, Brennan Doty of DuQuoin, IL; his only sister, Lori Watkins, who lived with him until his passing; an aunt, Sue Holtz of West Frankfort, IL; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Doty of Zeigler, IL; and his brother, Billy Doty of Zeigler, IL.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stone Funeral Home, 1201 East Poplar Street, West Frankfort, IL.

Ronnie's last wishes were to not have a funeral and to instead be cremated.

There will be a small celebration at Blairsville Cemetery that will be announced at a later date. Friends and family are welcome to come pay their respects once the date is confirmed.
