Johnathan Stanford Barco was born on September 14, 1959, to Dorothy H. Barco and the late Charles G. Barco, Sr. in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Stanford, as he was called by his family, started his education in Deep Creek, Virginia. He also attended Bridgeton Public schools. While attending Plainfield High School, Stanford played football and basketball and he was a force to be reckoned with.
Stanford gave his life to Christ at Miracle Baptist Church under the direction of Rev John M. Terry, later joining Calvary Baptist Church both in Plainfield, NJ under the direction of Rev. William Gerald Howard where he sang on the Men's and Mass choir.
Stanford married his next-door neighbor Deborah Smoot and to that union two handsome sons were born, Johnathan Tyree and Cortney David. Stanford brought his family back to New Jersey where his employment history varied from Dunn and Bradstreet to Paychex to odd jobs and then becoming self employed as a painter along with other odd end jobs. At which time two young people Farod and Tyquan Holman came into his life and have remained his "sons" forever.
We can all remember a card trick, joke, music trivia, singing a song or just making you laugh. If you cannot remember one of those things, then you really did not know him. Stanford loved to laugh and oh how he loved to dress but please do not forget the hats!!!!
Later in his adult life Stanford met the love of his life Diane (mommas) Rocco with whom he resided until his health caused him to move back to Plainfield. Stanford loved his family, but he absolutely loved his mother, Dorothy. He could be heard saying "Ma where you at" or "Ma what time you coming home."
Stanford was preceded in death by his father Charles G Barco, Sr., maternal grandparents Sol and Mary Harris, paternal grandparents John and Susie Barco, his nephew George, his two uncles Leonard, Lynn, and brother- in- law Calvin Deck.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his life his beloved mother Dorothy, his two sons Johnathan and Cortney, four grandchildren Micaiah, London, Paris and Brooklyn, his two sisters Sharon and Michelle, his brother Charles Gary (Sonya), "his forever sons" Farod and Tyquan Holman, three lifelong "brothers" Donald Van Dunk, Scott Jones and Eddie Jones, his beloved Diane (mommas), seven nephews, three nieces, a host of great nieces and nephews, one uncle Clinton (Francis), his Aunt Nora, three aunts along with a host of cousins, friends, and Loretta Brown.
