Johnie Brady, 80 years young, moved from his worn out tent to his eternal mansion in heaven, December 4, 2024. He spent his final days living with his youngest brother Alan and sister in law Patricia Brady, after battling failing health for the past 7 years.

Johnie is survived by his daughter, Rose; grandsons, Jason, Christopher, Timothy, Josiah, and Nathan; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria, Ramona, and Suzanne; and three brothers, Paul, Ron, and Alan.

Johnie served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division and 1st Cavalry Division. He originally joined the Army as an infantry soldier in October of 1964, and was reclassified to Field Artilleryman on a 105 Howitzer.

Johnie was awarded the Army Commendation Metal; Parachutist Badge; Combat Infantryman Badge; Air Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal, with three Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (1960); He completed the Jumpmaster Course. His service in Vietnam was December 1965-December 1966.

After completing his tour in Vietnam, he was reassigned to South Korea, where he married his wife where they had their daughter Rose. Later on the Army would transfer him and his family to the states where he would finish his military service in September of 1973.

He loved singing and dancing to 50’s oldies music, and he enjoyed working with leather crafts and jewelry.

Johnie was preceded by his father, Ermilo Sánchez and mother, Presilianna Pérez Brady, of New Mexico; three brothers, Johnny, Robert, and Wayne; and sister, Dilia.
