Johnie Morgan, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, was born on June 6, 1937, in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Johnny Morgan and the late America Napier Morgan, the youngest of ten children. He departed this life peacefully at his home in Stinnett, Kentucky, on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Johnie was a dedicated business owner and entrepreneur who built multiple successful ventures over the years. He owned two grocery stores and a restaurant that served the community for many memorable years. Additionally, he was the proud owner of a saw mill company that continues to operate today. His commitment to his work paralleled his service to the community, as he also worked for the Kentucky State Road Department.

Throughout his life, Johnie cherished the time spent with his family and grandchildren, whom he held dear. He took great pride in being a loving father to his four sons: Bobby Lane Morgan (Michele), Edmond E. Morgan (Angela), Johnny J. Morgan (Elizabeth), and Elbert W. Morgan, all of Stinnett, KY and his beloved daughter, Linda L. Roberts (Donnie) of Stinnett, KY, along with a special nephew, John Robert Bell. Johnie was a proud grandfather to thirteen cherished grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to twelve great-grandchildren. His family, extended by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Johnie was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Jones on January 17, 1958, at Bear Branch, Kentucky. They shared a bond filled with love and mutual support until her passing. Johnie was not only a diligent worker but also a talented musician, known for crafting beautiful mandolins. He also possessed remarkable carpentry skills and took great joy in building homes, especially for his children.

He had a great passion for life, which included spending time at the lake and fishing, pursuits that brought him happiness.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Morgan and America Napier Morgan, his loving and devoted wife Bonnie Jean Jones Morgan, and his siblings: four brothers Robert "Buster" Morgan, Jess Morgan, McKinley Morgan, and Dave Morgan; and five sisters Marie Begley, Wonda Wilder, Mary Howard, Lily Mosley, and Anna Lee Bell.

The funeral service will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, January 02, 2025 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God with Geoffery Roberts, Micky Roberts, and Robert Dean Bray officiating.

Interment will follow the services at the Johnny Morgan Family Cemetery at Stinnett, KY with David Morgan, Andrew Morgan, James Morgan, Donavon Roberts, Ben Roberts, Mark Couch, Billy Maggard, Johnny Morgan, and Nathan Conley serving as pallbearers.

Friends and family may gather for visitation from 6p.m. - 9p.m. Wednesday evening, January 01, 2025 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
