Ms. Johnnie Mae James Perry, of Eastern Ave, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Ernest Perry.
Ms. James Perry was born April 10, 1963 in Riverhead, N.Y., a daughter to the John James and Juanita (Mack) Tillman.
Johnnie Mae was educated in the N.Y. school system where she graduated from Bellport Senior High School. She continued her education becoming a licensed CNA/Home Health Care Provider. She worked multiple jobs throughout the years of her life in New York and Connecticut. She worked as a CNA for about 20 years and most recently at TLC Home Care in Connecticut.
Johnnie Mae loved to cook and clean. Her favorite things to do were spending time with her family and volunteering at the different Soup Kitchens which she loved. She loved to dance listen to music and have a good time with her friends and family. Johnnie Mae had a wonderful soul and was always kind to others. Her heart was pure and kind. She would always be there for anyone who needed her. Johnnie Mae will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters; Cindy Robinson of Bridgeport, CT and Lady Marie Williams of Waterbury, stepdaughter; Sharon Day, granddaughter; Jessica, great granddaughter; Aaliyah, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends including her best friend for many years Anita Johnson whom she also lived with. She was predeceased by four sisters, Dorothy Hunter, Joanne Tillman, Gay Tillman, Tasha Hughes and aunt Alice Lee who was her guardian.
