Johnnie Couniee McCall Jr., age 74, passed away on July 16, 2024. Born on August 2, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, Johnnie was the cherished son of the late Johnnie C. McCall Sr. and Argola Brown.
A beloved father, Johnnie is survived by his son, Johnnie C. McCall III (Charity Joy C. McCall), and his cherished grandson, Johnnie C. McCall IV. He was a dear brother to Lydia Cross and Sam McCall and a treasured uncle to Argola Hardiman, Conlarlie Rouse Pratt, Meshela McCall, Athena McCall, Derell Pratt, Sheldon Cross, and Sam McCall Jr. Johnnie's legacy extends to his loving great nieces and nephews: Keijera Jackson, Tracey Cross, Paulette Dixon, Lydia Cross, Amaya Cross, Trinity Cross, Ruth Burns, Arroyya Burns, Kenberly Bryant, Semaj Crawford, and Xavier Mitchell, and his great-great nieces, Raelynn Williams and Ava Cross. He was the cherished grandson of Ruth and Sam Brown and a beloved godfather to Jonathan Wright.
Johnnie proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran from 1967 to 1969, earning a Purple Heart for his bravery.
Johnnie was a man of many passions, enjoying comics from both DC and Marvel, videography, and traveling. He was an active member of the Van Masters Van Club.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 12:15 p.m., at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd. Seville, OH 44273 (please meet at cemetery by 12:00 p.m.).
