Johnnie Mae Teffer of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on January 19, 2022, at the age of 59, She was born in Dayton, Tennessee, to William Paul Teffer and Jessie Mae Tallent (Reed) on September 3, 1962. Johnnie was employed at York International until her retirement after fifteen years of service.
She enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, including riding motorcycles, working in her yard, spoiling her pets, watching the world news and keeping up with current affairs, and watching her favorite team, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, play ball. She enjoyed going out to dinner, especially when she could go to Red Lobster or Cattleman's Steakhouse for special occasions.
She was a problem solver, always having words of wisdom and sage advice to offer. She was firm in her beliefs and opinions, had high standards for herself and others, and could be hard-headed at times. She was also a fun-loving soul who was full of love, her caring, giving heart evident in everything she did. Johnnie was a loving daughter, mother, sister, Nana, and friend. She touched the hearts of many during her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Teffer. Johnnie is survived by her son, Jessie Teffer Griffin of Norman; two sisters, Katherine Teffer of Choctaw, Oklahoma, and Nancy Martinez of Evansville, Tennessee, and one brother, Buford Teffer, also of Tennessee; her friend and caregiver, Roberta Griffin; and her mother, and mother to many, Jessie Mae Tallent; two grandchildren, Jaelynn Teffer Griffin, and Jesse Teffer Griffin, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
