Johnny Eugene Blanton, age 65, departed this life on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. He was born in Jesup on February 17, 1960, and lived in Wayne County most of his life moving to Tattnall County 10 years ago. He had a long-standing career in the timber industry, where he dedicated himself to his work, displaying a strong commitment that defined his professional life.
Known for his spirited personality, Johnny was always the life of the party; his laughter resonated in any gathering, and he was often recognized as the loudest person in the room. His presence brought joy and light to those around him. He had a variety of interests that enriched his life, including fishing, singing, and sharing precious moments with family and friends. Johnny found immense pleasure in visiting the Huddle House, enjoying hearty meals in the company of loved ones as well as indulging in entertainment, particularly westerns and the show "I Almost Got Away With It" on the ID channel.
Many fond memories were made while sitting on the porch and listening to music, a simple yet cherished activity that exemplified Johnny’s love for life and the people in it.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Sue Williams and a brother, David Blanton.
Johnny is survived by his children, Regina Blanton of Reidsville, Johnny Eugene Blanton, Jr. of Reidsville, Katrina Blanton (Ernest) Smith of Glennville, Lisa (Patrick) Ansell of Glennville, Chelsea Chartrand (Shane DeLoach) of Glennville; his father, John D, Blanton of Jesup; sisters, Patsy Martinez and Ann (Ricky) Mobley all of Jesup; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Brother Trent Sikes officiating.
