Johnny Ray Creech, 84 of Lilburn, passed away Tuesday July 25, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday August 1, 2023 at the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Mike Fiddler officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 am Tuesday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Born April 2, 1939 in Nashville, Tennessee, Johnny was the son of the late Benjamin Lester Creech and Dollie Fredonia Creech. Raised in Tennessee, Johnny served in the U. S. Navy from 1959 to 1963. He married Linda Loyd on January 30, 1990. During his 55 years as a millwright, Johnny worked in Alabama for the Millwright & Machinery Erectors Local No. 1192 and in Georgia for the Millwright Local No. 1263.
Johnny was a good, kind man, a good neighbor and a perfect gentlemen who never hesitated to help others. He could fix anything, and loved working on small engines.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Creech; beloved step daughters, Angela Sprinkle and husband Corey, and Cathy Sansom; cherished grandchildren, Linda Fay McEntyre and husband Doug, Julie Gail Sansom and boyfriend Eric Dover, Willis Clinton Sansom III and wife Mattie, and Mason Dale Sprinkle; proud great-grandfather to Christopher John Brock, Ashley Michelle Brock, Sophia Grace McEntyre, Sydney Noel McEntyre, Jathan Adam McDaniel, Gavin Ryder Martin, Delilah Belle Sansom, and Rylie Kate Sansom; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and William Creech, and stepsons, Greg and Gary Loyd.
