MSgt. Johnny Nicholas Williams, USAF (Ret.) went on to his eternal glory on November 11th, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born in Rutledge, TN on June 12th, 1946, the son of the late Lewis and Estelle Williams. Johnny graduated from Rutledge High School and served his country in the US Air Force. After 22 years of service, which included serving during the Vietnam War, Johnny retired in 1990. After retiring from the Air Force, Johnny used his significant mechanical skills and ran his own repair shop for many years. An avid hunter and fisherman, Johnny cherished his friends at the Darling Lake Hunting Club. He loved his church family at Gathering Community Church and served the church in numerous roles.
Survivors include his sister Neta (Ted) Phillips; sons Jerry, Joseph (Mary), and Acey Taylor; daughter Corinthian (Travis) Todd; grandchildren, Liane, Christopher, Kailey, Caroline, Samuel, Katy (Derek) Edwards, Jacob (Maesie) Croston, Julia Croston, Parris Todd and Brandon Taylor; and great-children Jackson Edwards and Jaeda, Chloe, and Adalyn Taylor. Johnny is predeceased by his wife Sherryle Diane Williams; daughter-in-law Laura; brothers and sisters-in-law Lewis, Jr. (Irene) and Charlie (Bobbie); sisters and brothers-in-law Ora (Gene) Underwood, Dorothy (Bill) Burchet, Edith (James) Carter, and Faye (Red) Lowe.
Services will be held at Gathering Community Church on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, located at 9661 SC-707, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm. and will be followed by a service officiated by Rev. Benji Simmons at 1:30 pm and graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway officiated by Rev. Ted Phillips.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gathering Community Church, Post Office Box 30117, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588.
