Jon Walter Pool Sr.

Jon Pool (Sr.), age 86, of Hot Springs, passed away on August 9, 2025, entering eternal life to be reunited with his beloved wife, Barbara, who passed this June.
He is survived by: his brother Richard Pool; his son, Jon "Jay" Pool, Jr. and wife Laura; two cherished grandchildren, Alexandra Pool and Brenna Pool; two nieces, Laura Keener and Tracy Moss; and, two nephews, Dickie Pool and Scott McClard, all who held a special place in his heart.
Jon lived a life rich with service and accomplishment. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Jon was a man of many occupations, to include designing houses, until he began working with computers in the 1960s. After earning his master's degree from the University of Arkansas, Jon left the computer banking industry to teach computer science for many years at Arkansas Tech University. He would leave to start his own corporation and opened his own store before retiring. In his free time, Jon found joy in traveling, golf, tinkering in his workshop and reuniting and recording with his High School singing quartet, The Four Checks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo M. Pool and Zula Alred Pool, and his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara L. Pool.
A graveside service was held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hot Springs.
