Jonathan Edward Dewayne Bennett, age 26 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Sunday, July 27, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on July 12, 1999 the son of Darrell Murphy and Dora (Bennett) Murphy. Jonathan had been a stocker for Wal-Mart, he enjoyed playing video games, being with friends, rapping, and listening to Eminem.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ricky Bennett; great grandparents, Dora Dean Bennett and Marvin and Purlina Jane Goins; great uncle, Donald Goins, and best friend and cousin, Devon Goins.

Survivors include his father, Darrell Murphy of Lexington, Kentucky; mother, Dora Murphy of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; brothers, Dalton Ross of Harriman, Tennessee, Trevor Jones of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Darrell Michale Murphy of Science Hill, Kentucky, Hunter Murphy of Science Hill, Kentucky; sisters, Makayla Murphy of Somerset, Kentucky, Hannah Murphy of Science Hill, Kentucky, Mercedes Murphy of Science Hill, Kentucky; cousins who were his friends, Tyler Goins and Nathan Goins; friends, JP Coter, Caleb Dople, Josh Hatfield, Leon Hatfield, Nathan Davis (Amanda); nieces and nephews, Brintlee Rollins, Angel Urrieta, Oakland Ross; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Rollins officiating. Burial will follow in the Daugherty-Taylor Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm at the Funeral Home.
