Teresa Smith-Higginbothan, age 52 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born in Whitley City, Kentucky on August 21, 1973 the daughter of Jerry and Mila Halstine (Spradlin) Smith. Teresa had been a caregiver at Horizon, a housekeeper at the Cumberland Falls State Park, and a member of the Sawyer Missionary Baptist Church. Going to yard sales, gardening, and making memories with her grandchildren were her greatest enjoyments in life.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mila Halstine Smith; brother, Bobby Lawrence Smith; and father-in-law, Albert Higginbotham, mother-in-law, Alma Higginbotham, and brother-in-law, Jamie Higginbotham.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Higginbothan of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; father, Jerry Smith of Parkers Lake; children, Stephanie Snead (Saxton) of Taylor, Michigan, September Stephens (Larry) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Michael Wright (Elizabeth) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Cossandra Wright of Taylor, Michigan, and Leshia Jones (Eugene) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; brother, Charles Smith (Julie) of Stearns, Kentucky; sister, Loretta Ridener (Douglas) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; grandchildren, Sophia, Skarlet, Sydney, Peyton, Kaylor, Leah, Logan, Julia, Elizabeth, Mollie, Michael, Addison, and Emma; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 1pm Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Sawyer Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Perry and Bro. Dewayne Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlar Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Tuesday at the Church.
