Jonathan Michael Lear "Jon, Jon Mike, JET", age 40 of Oakmont, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday October 29, 2024.
Jon leaves behind his loving and supportive family; parents Mary and Rich Lear of Oakmont, siblings Jennifer (Jonathan) Brenza, Stephen (Kate) Lear, and Zachary (Casey) Lear, his niece, Gianna, and his dog, Porter, "Bubba". He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended Lear and Erdeljac family members.
Jon lit up every room he walked into with his contagious personality. He was a friend to everyone and knew no strangers. Jon cherished time with friends and family, whether it was playing backyard games, enjoying pit fires, riding horses, fishing, cruising on his motorcycle, or relaxing at the beach. He also never missed capturing a sunset. Every bone in Jon's body was competitive as you all know. You could always find him in the garage working on a new house project. Jon was a beautiful soul who will be deeply missed.
The family is grateful to the community for their outpouring of love and support for them and for Jon.
Family, guests, and friends of Jon will celebrate his life on Saturday November 2, 2024 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. The family asks that donations be made to National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) or Animal Friends in lieu of flowers. Casual attire preferred, as Jon would want.
