Age 98, of
Oakmont, Pennsylvania, on Monday, December 22, 2025. Husband of the late Patricia A. Russo (née Longo), his beloved wife of 70 years. Proud father of two sons, Anthony (Laura) Russo and Steve (Kelly) Russo. Loving grandfather of four treasured grandchildren, Antonio, Angelina, Marcus, and Mira Russo, and one great grandchild, Addilyn Jennings. Also survived by his brother Michael (late Sylvia) Russo. Predeceased by sisters Louise (late Phillip) Calabrese, Lena (late Frank) DeCarlo, and Concetta "Connie" (late Joseph) Alfieri and brother Joseph (late Blanche) Russo. Treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews who will miss his warm nature and charming disposition. He also leaves behind many cousins and friends throughout the Pittsburgh area. Tony was the fourth child of the late Michael and Virginia Russo, who immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island in the early 1900s. Born on June 20, 1927, he grew up in the East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh and attended Westinghouse High School. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Japan during WWII where he learned to repair military vehicles for U.S. troops stationed there. Upon completion of his service, he returned to Pittsburgh where met and married Pat, who would remain by his side as a deeply devoted wife for the next 70 years. Tony opened a small auto body repair shop behind their house in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, repairing vehicles for local car dealerships. He eventually obtained his teaching certificate from the University of Pittsburgh and became an auto body shop teacher at Brashear High School in the Beechview neighborhood of Pittsburgh, where he taught his trade to generations of future auto body mechanics in the Pittsburgh area. Tony was a long-time member of St. Maurice parish in Forest Hills, where he served as a church usher for several decades. He was happiest surrounded by family, sharing a meal and recalling funny stories. He enjoyed many years of retirement with his beloved wife in their Forest Hills home and in their final years together at Presbyterian Senior Care in
Oakmont, PA. Friends will be received at Wolfe Memorial, LLC, Forest Hills Chapel, 3600 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221, on Friday, Dec. 26, from 5:00 to 7:30pm, and Saturday, Dec. 27, from 10:30 until 11:30am. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 12:00pm. Entombment in All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
