Jonathan Isaac Wells was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on May 19,1957 to Willie Wells and Naomi (Lee) Wells. He remained a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kansas.
Jonathan attended Douglas and Dunbar South Elementary Schools, Northeast Junior High School, and graduated from Sumner High School in 1975.
Jonathan was a devoted and faithful member of Madden Temple COGIC, in Argentine, Kansas.
Jonathan never married or produced any children, but was like a father figure to his nieces and nephews.
Jonathan was the manager of Ramey's Retail Liquor Store for over fifteen years. He was also a driver for Brinks for several years. Jonathan later, learned to operate a forklift and was a forklift operator in the Warehouse Industry until he retired in 2021.
Thinking about Jonathan brings to mind, so many wonderful memories. Most people thought that Jonathan was a very quiet person but, he actually had a lot to say. He had a wonderful sense of humor, which constantly made you laugh or put a smile on your face. Our niece, Mamie said he was our family's "Gentle Giant", which was a very profound description of him. Gentle Giant indeed, because Jonathan was, a very kind, and loving, gentleman. He never held back when it came to lending a helping hand. If Jonathan said he would do something, you could rest assured, that he would follow through and complete his commitment. Jonathan was indeed, a very dependable person. We as a family, loved
Jonathan and knew without a doubt that he loved us too. Jonathan will be missed not just by our family, but by many, many others as well. Having to say good bye to him, was one of the hardest things to do.
His mother Naomi Lee, father Willie Wells, sister Anita Moore, and brother Cleophas Wells preceded him in death.
Jonathan departed this life on November 11, 2024.
Jonathan leaves to cherish his memories: Sisters; Eleanor Wiley of Detroit, MI, Lorraine McInnis of Harker Heights, TX, Ella Yarber (Jerry) of Kansas City, MO, and Harriet McInnis of Kansas City, KS, Bonus Sister Sarah Ramey-Willis of Kansas City, KS, Brothers; John H Mclnnis of Kansas City, MO, and Luther H Mclnnis (Mary) of Glendale, AZ., Nieces, Nephews and a host of family and dear friends.
