Jonathon Robert Grove, age 46, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Jon was born on March 29, 1979, in South Bend, Indiana. He worked as a carpenter in the construction industry for many years and was always eager to grow and learn, taking numerous college courses over the years to better himself and expand his skills.
Jon is survived by his children, Justin Grove of South Bend and Caitlin Grove of Elkhart; his father, Mark (Christine) Grove of Mishawaka; and his brother, Joshua Grove of Baroda, Michigan. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Autumn Grove of Elkhart, and several nieces, including Chelsee Gayer and Rayne Hulitt, a great niece and a great nephew. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Ringland, and his sister, Christina Lennon.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Cruz Family Funeral Home in Osceola.
Jon was an avid fan of Notre Dame football. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing, and was a deeply talented artist. He was an incredible painter and skilled in ink and pencil sketching. He was also a talented tattoo artist who poured his creativity into every piece he did.
Jon will be remembered for his infectious laugh and beaming smile. He lit up any room he walked into. He loved to have a good time and was fiercely loyal to the people he loved. Family and friends meant the world to him, and he was a loving and dedicated father. Recently, Jon made a heartfelt decision to accept Jesus as his Savior. He found comfort and peace in reading the Bible and was recently baptized, embracing his faith with sincerity and joy.
