Jonitta Sue Ward, 80, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, surrounded by her family in Borger, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 1106 Cleveland, Borger, Texas. The burial will follow at the Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg, Texas, Hale County.
She was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 30, 1945, to Johnnie and Betty Joe Reedy.
She is survived by her sisters, Juanita (Kathy) Whelchel and Jodena Dotson. Both of Houston, Texas. Her son and his wife Donald and Tracie Ward, of Borger, Texas, three daughters and their spouses, Anissa and Carl Jones of Amarillo, Texas, Tarisa and Johnny Odom of Waynesboro, Mississippi, and Avis Morris of Amarillo, Texas.
She has 12 grandkids, 23 great grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Betty Jo Reedy and her brother, Roger Dale Reedy
Jonitta loved God above all else and was a devout Christian. She attended Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Borger, Texas where she served as a Sunday school teacher, church secretary, and member of the board.
Her family was the second most important thing to her. She loved them with all her heart and would do anything for any one of them. The thing she did the most for her family was pray for them and their Salvation. More than anything she wants to see everyone in Heaven.
Jonitta was a nurse for over 20 years and a charge nurse at the Craig Methodist Alzheimer’s Unit for over 10 years. She loved taking care of others and spreading God’s good news.
She loved spending time in the Colorado mountains and going to Padre Island with her family and friends.
