Jose Fidel Jimenez also known as "J.J." (King of Barbacoa), born June 6, 1950, age 74, raised in San Antonio, Tx went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his parents Fidel and Eugenia Jimenez and his oldest sister Theresa Jimenez. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1969 and was a successful pioneer with his dad creating a legacy and foundation for the Jimenez Barbacoa Wholesale business.
He enjoyed his time owning La Unica Molina, Jake's Grill and Teddy Bear's Tacos to Go talking to and meeting new people. He joined the Navy in 1970 and was honored as a Navy Veteran. His pride, love and joy out of all his time working was becoming a civilian with Kelly AFB and then transitioned to Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) where he was able to retire with 40 years. Jose also loved going to Las Vegas to play poker and casino with his wife Celia. He had the biggest heart and helped any family member and friends when he could. He loved listening to conjunto music especially Nick Villarreal ("I Gatta Go") and dancing at every gathering. He also was someone who knew business plans from the back of his hand and gave all the advice to help anyone who was interested.
Jose Fidel Jimenez is survived by his wife Celia Urdialez Jimenez, his three children Joseph Jimenez (Rachel Jimenez), Veronica Santos (Jose "Pete" Santos), and Stephanie Jimenez (Luciano E. Garcia). He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren Brianna M.C. Jimenez (Paul Martinez), Ashley Delpin-Torres, Matthew P. Santos (Ashley Santos), Marisa I. Santos, Sebastion R. Flores, Diego F. Flores (Norma Garcia), Megan N. Santos, Giovanni H. Flores, Isabel M. Limias, 6 great grandchildren Matthew Jimenez Jr., Maddison Martinez, Emery Santos, Elijah Santos, Mckenzie Martinez, and Genesis Aylin Flores, Siblings Becky Higle (Walter), Henry Jimenez (Esther), Luis Jimenez, Robert "Bobby" Jimenez (Lorraine), Benny Jimenez (Mary), Raul Jimenez (Christine), Carlos Jimenez (Denise).
He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
