José Daniel Loachamin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, pastor, and friend, was born on November 30, 1960, in Quito, Ecuador, to María Consolación and José Manuel. He was the oldest of seven siblings and from a young age showed love and care for his family.
At a Christmas church gathering, where his future wife was portraying Mary in the pageant, he met the love of his life. Their nearly 45 years of marriage were marked by faith, devotion, and love.
At the age of 20, while serving in the military, he had a life-changing encounter with God. From that moment on, he dedicated his life to ministry, serving passionately as a pastor and mentor to many. In addition to pastoring, he worked in manufacturing and as a mechanic, finding joy in working with his hands but always prioritizing his calling to guide others.
He faithfully pastored the Cristiana Bautista Salvación Divina church in Amaguaña for 20 years and founded Iglesia Verdad Viviente in Sangolquí, serving there for 4 years in Ecuador. Together with his wife, he dedicated 42 years to ministry, raising two daughters and three sons to whom he imparted a deep love for Christ. Today, all of them continue to serve in ministries and leadership, a living testimony of his legacy. One of his favorite phrases was: "Raising true men and women."
In 2011, he traveled to the United States to visit his children who were studying there. He worked and supported his son financially through medical school in Ecuador. His passion for learning led him to graduate from Baptist University of the Américas with a diploma in theological studies and later a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary in 2021. At the time of his passing, he was working toward his doctorate.
He loved God, his family, and his church. He was a dreamer, a mechanic with a passion for cars, and a visionary. He always had new projects in mind-sometimes dreaming of expanding his home in Ecuador, other times of traveling the world.
On September 10, 2025, he passed away peacefully at his home in San Antonio, Texas, with his beloved wife by his side. He will be remembered above all as a follower of Christ and pastor, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hope, and love.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Olga Guachamin; his daughters Caty and Raquel; his sons Israel, Aaron, and Josías; his grandchildren: Eliana, Faith, Eden, Lucas, Gabriel, Evelyn, Selah; his siblings Claudio, Leopoldo, Segundo, Jaime, Janet, and Nely; and many relatives, friends, and spiritual children whose lives were impacted by him.
