Jose A. "Tony" Lopez-Baquero

Jose "Tony" Antonio Lopez-Baquero, 53, of Panama City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Born August 21, 1972 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, Tony went on to build and live a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to those around him. He created and ran Florida's first Unmanned Vehicle Systems A.S. degree program at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, where he was also Program Coordinator/Assistant Professor. A retired U.S. Army Engineer Diving Supervisor, Tony had a BS in Law Enforcement Intelligence from FSU and a MPS in Geospatial Intelligence from Penn State University. He had earned two professional certifications; Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) from the Geographic Information Systems Certification Institute and Geospatial Intelligence Professional (GEOINT) from the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation. After his time with the military, Tony served as a Regional Director for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University before taking on his position at Gulf Coast State College.

Tony is preceded in death by his brother, Ricardo "Ricky" Jose Lopez-Baquero.

Those left to treasure his memory include his wife, Cynthia Lopez-Baquero; daughters, Gabriella "Rosie" Rose Lopez-Riley, Lillian Renee Stanley-Fermaint, Sarah Rheann Webb and Alayna Maxine Webb; sons, Jesse Jarrett Lopez, Emmanuel Lopez and Landen Ronnie Webb; parents, Jorge Luis Lopez Lago and Clara Baquero Latorre; and siblings, Carlos Javier Lopez-Baquero (Aglaee), Jorge "Jorgito" Luis Lopez Baquero and Luisma Manuel Lopez-Baquero (Elia Rios Cosme).

A memorial service will be held for Tony at 2:00PM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Stroud officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Tony will be laid to rest at a later date at Warrior's Memorial Reef.
