Mr. Jose Atilio Portillo Rivas, 47, passed away on May 23, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on March 12, 1977, in El Salvador. Jose enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing, gardening, and playing soccer. He also enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Jose was a dedicated construction worker for most of his life. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Manuel Enrique Jaimes. He is survived by his parents; Rosa Elena Portillo de Rivas and Jose Andres Rivas Portillo, long-time partner; Maria Delgado, three children; Franklin Portillo, Julio Portillo Delgado, and Vanessa Portillo Delgado, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM Sunday, May 26 through Monday evening, May 28, at his home.
El Sr. José Atilio Portillo Rivas, de 47 años, falleció el 23 de Mayo de 2024 en Forsyth Medical Center. Nació el 12 de Marzo de 1977 en El Salvador. José disfrutaba del aire libre y le encantaba pescar, hacer jardinería y jugar fútbol. También le gustaba escuchar música y bailar. José fue un dedicado trabajador de la construcción durante la mayor parte de su vida. Le precedió en la muerte un sobrino, Manuel Enrique Jaimes. Le sobreviven sus padres; Rosa Elena Portillo de Rivas y José Andrés Rivas Portillo, socio de muchos años; María Delgado, tres hijos; Franklin Portillo, Julio Portillo Delgado y Vanessa Portillo Delgado, y varias sobrinas, sobrinos y primos. Se llevará a cabo un funeral a las 2:00 p. m. el martes 28 de Mayo de 2024 en la Capilla Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall. La familia recibirá amigos desde las 12:00 p. m. del domingo 26 de Mayo hasta el lunes 28 de Mayo por la noche en su casa.
