Josefa Da Costa

CUMBERLAND
Josefa (Fisico) da Costa, 104, of Cumberland passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Augusto da Costa.
Born in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Augusto Campos Fisico and Maria Teresa Lopes Fisico. She moved to this country in 1969, settling in Cumberland.
Mrs. da Costa, was employed as a factory worker for the former OSRAM-Sylvania in Central Falls for many thirteen years until her retirement.
Josefa was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She enjoyed word search puzzles, tending to her garden, flowers and plants, enjoyed cooking, but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves her children Anibal da Costa and his wife Lurdes of Cumberland, Leonel da Costa and his wife Ermelinda of Cumberland, Jorge da Costa and his wife Margarida of Cumberland, Teresa Sales and her husband Adolfo of Cumberland, Jose da Costa and his wife Lurdes of Pawtucket, and Marcia Bordalo and her husband Carlos of Cumberland; her eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Tiago Fisico and Antonio Fisico.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Josefa's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM and continue on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 9 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive Cumberland. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hope Health, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
