Joseph William Bleicher

Joseph William Bleicher, known to friends and family as Joe, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025 at Seven Lakes Memory Care in Loveland, Colorado. He was 77 years old.
Joe was born on April 26, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to Walter and Dorothy Bleicher. He grew up in Dayton as the oldest of four siblings, cherishing time with his family and grandparents. With a strong sense of duty and adventure, he enlisted in the Army, serving with distinction as an Airborne Ranger and Green Beret. Joe attended The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration, followed by an MBA at Adelphi University.
Joe dedicated his career to public service, first with the U.S. Coast Guard in Brooklyn, New York and later with the Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C., where he spent the majority of his career. In 1982, he married Sharon Strothers in Washington, D.C., and together they built a life in Northern Virginia, raising their daughters, Katherine and Brigette. The family has fond memories of spending time in D.C. and always looked forward to their annual trips to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
At age 50, Joe embraced early retirement and moved with his family to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he enjoyed playing golf year-round. He had a lifelong passion for personal finance, reading, cars, fitness, movies, and cheering on his alma mater, Ohio State. Joe had a gift for conversation and was always eager to connect with others or offer advice.
Above all, Joe was most proud of his family. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his daughters, Katherine and Brigette; his grandchildren, Jack and Charlie; and his sisters, Patty and Susan. His legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom will live on in all who knew him.
