Joseph E. Burroughs, 79, of Carmel, Indiana passed away April 6, 2025. He was born October 15, 1945, in Bellaire, Ohio the son of the late Orville Walter Burroughs and Deborah Mae (Gordon) Burroughs Geissler.
Joe honorably and faithfully served four years in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he married his high school sweetheart Janet Tharp. He worked for many years as a Quality Control Engineer in the aerospace and automotive industries. During retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, building puzzles, gardening, and feeding birds.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janet Burroughs; three children, Bradley (Amy) Burroughs, Christina (Steve) Huseman, and Cheryl Burroughs; and four grandchildren, Dominic, Evelyn, Hailey, and Gloria. He was preceded in passing by twin brothers, James David and John Paul Burroughs.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon Monday, April 14, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park (Lakeview Chapel), 4180 Westfield Road, Westfield, IN 46062. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Indy Honor Flight, P.O. Box 10, Plainfield, IN 46168
