I met Joe in 1966, when my dear and only sister Ginny brought him home to meet the family. He was a little shy at that time. Soon, though, Ginny and Joe were married and had a beautiful baby son. I was then taken into his warm and loving Italian family in Dalton, and we have been good friends ever since. He has always been kind to me and my children (he loved all kids, especially the little ones) and he and my dear departed husband were soon fast friends. When they grew older, they liked to compare experiences volunteering at their respective Food Banks. Joe has always been a wonderful addition to all of our family gatherings and we will miss him and his jokes and smiles very much. A good, good man!
