Joseph E. Chorba Jr. 71, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Dowagiac, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was born on December 6, 1952, in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Joseph E. Chorba Sr. and Mary J. (Smeltzer) Davidson.
Along with his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his sister.
Left to cherish the memory of Joseph is his loving wife of 53 years, Phyllis (Withers) Chorba; daughter, Tereasa (Rob) Smith; son, Mike (Paula) Chorba; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected businessman. A true family man, Joseph's 53 years of loving marriage to his wife, Phyllis, were the foundation upon which he built a life full of joy and lasting memories.
An enthusiast of the great outdoors, Joseph found pleasure in fishing, hunting, and escaping to the serene cabin he skillfully crafted up north. His passion for restoring Jeeps was more than a hobby-it was a testament to his mechanical genius and a reflection of his adventurous spirit.
A pillar of his community, he ran a successful business for over 30 years, showing the same dedication and care to his work as he did to his cherished grandchildren. Joseph's legacy is one of love, commitment, and the tireless pursuit of happiness, echoing in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In keeping with Joseph's wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
