SHELDON– Joseph C. Clair, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Sheldon.
He was born in Burlington on August 4, 1987 to Charles and Candy (Putnam) Clair.
Joey grew up in Sheldon and Enosburg and graduated from Enosburg Falls High School in 2005. He loved to cook and bake so he took a job working for the Sheldon Casino where he enjoyed waiting on and cooking for his customers. Joey shared this passion for cooking and baking with his mother and the two spent hours in the kitchen perfecting their donut recipe and preparing all the holiday meals for their family. He also looked forward to showing his draft horses- River Edge Draft Horses every summer at Franklin County Field Days in Highgate with his friends and family. His love of animals did not stop at horses, he loved all farm animals, calves, chickens, and his beloved husky, Finn. In most recent years, he had become the primary caregiver for his mother and the two were inseparable. Joey loved his family and friends, he was always there to lend a helping hand, even if he did like to poke a little fun and get you going along the way.
Joey is survived by his parents, Charlie & Candy Clair; half-sisters, Rebecca Barratt, and Kimberly Carlton; aunts and uncles, Robin Putnam & Tracey Haycraft, Skipper & Karen Putnam, William Clair, Robert & Dulcey Clair, and Bonnie Clair & Mike Cushing; many cousins; bestfriend, Zackary Ryea; and close friends, Andrew, Max, and Cody Ryea.
Joey's Life Celebration events will be held at a later date.
