Joseph V. Cochran, 67, of Bunker Hill, IN, passed away at 12:30 AM, Friday, September 27, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Rochester, IN, January 6, 1957, the son of Robert A. and Louise Shanabarger Cochran. Joe was a 1975 graduate of Peru High School and a US Marine Corp veteran. His military declarations include the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church and a plumber by trade. Survivors include his wife Bonita, brothers Rev. Paul Cochran of Frankfort, IN, David (Angie) Cochran of Peru, IN, Stephen (Rose) Cochran of Montrose, CO, and John Herman (Lisa) Cochran of Mountain View, AR; sisters Monica (Frank) McGowan of Niceville, FL and Ginny (Jaye) Lee of Whiteland, IN. A stepdaughter Yolanda (Bill) Friend of Denver, IN, granddaughters Alisha Zehring and Brooke Selleck; a sister-in-law Beth (Ray) Harris, and brothers-in-law Johnny Johnson, Robert (Pam) Johnson, Kevin Johnson, and Brian Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Wilma Cochran. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Joseph V. Cochran will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W 5th St. Peru, IN, with Joe's brother Rev. Paul Cochran and Rev. Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the Miami County Military Rites Unit. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W Main St. Peru, IN. There will be a prayer service 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
