Joseph A. "Joe" DiFrancesco Jr.

1931 - 2022

Joseph A. DiFrancesco, Jr., age 91, of Drexel Hill, PA, formerly of West Philadelphia, PA, passed away on July 8, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph A. DiFrancesco, Sr. and Rose DiFrancesco (nee Assetta). Joe was a 1949 graduate of West Catholic Boys High School in Philadelphia. He was a decorated Korean War veteran where he served in the United States Army. He retired from the Upper Darby Police Department where he was a decorated Police Officer. He was the owner of Joseph A. DiFrancesco, Jr. Paving Company. Joe enjoyed visiting Ventnor, New Jersey, fishing, bowling and boxing. Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rita M. DiFrancesco (nee Landolfi) in 2020, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. He is survived by his loving children Geralyn Meehan (Joseph), Margie DiFrancesco, Joseph A. DiFrancesco, III (Deborah) and late Monica Strohl (Donald). Also survived by his 7 grandchildren Gwen O’Neill (Chris), Joseph Meehan (Colleen), Anthony Meehan (Shannon), Marissa Danese (Matt), Stephanie Siegman (Brian), Joseph DiFrancesco, IV and Daniel DiFrancesco and his 16 great-grandchildren, Brian, MacKenzie, Ava, Alyssa, Angelo, Grace, Arianna, Emily, Raegan, Emma, Eva, Donnie, Tommy, Clarice, Monica and Samara. Brother of Gloria Ezzie (the late Mickey), and the late Lena, Vera, Nancy, and Charles “Snooky”. Brother-in-law of the late Anna DiFrancesco. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing, Thursday, July 14, 2022 7:00-9:00 PM and Friday, July 15, 2022 9:30-10:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA and to his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
