Joseph Anthony DiPalermo, 62, of Brentwood, New Hampshire, passed away on July 24th, 2025, following a heart attack and a three-week stay in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
Joseph "Joe" was born in Flushing, New York, on November 29th, 1962, the son of Florence Marie (Leone) DiPalermo and Bernardo Joseph DiPalermo. Joe was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and community member. He touched all those around him with his outgoing nature, warmth, humor, and compassion. Joe was the happiest when he was helping and supporting others.
Joe graduated from Methuen High School in 1980 and went on to earn his Associate's Degree in Business from Northern Essex Community College in 1984.
Joe met the love of his life, Diane (Thacker) DiPalermo, in 1994 when they were both involved in a community theater production of Mouse Trap. They married in the Union Church on September 16th, 1995, in Harpswell, Maine, surrounded by their families and friends, and in the presence of God. They were blessed to have two children, Dominic (28) and Alyssa (25), whom they raised in Brentwood, New Hampshire. Joe and Diane spent their nearly 30 years of marriage kayaking on the coast of Maine, volunteering at their church, traveling, and most of all, loving their family and each other.
Joe was an incredibly involved parent and remarkably quick with a dad joke. Whether it was coaching his children's youth sports teams, showing up to every game and band show with the high school marching band, or making frequent trips to visit Dominic and Alyssa at college, Joe was a father figure to many beyond his two children. Legions of Dominic and Alyssa's friends will remember "Joe Daddy"/"Papa D" with immense love and gratitude forever.
Joe was a devoted member of Christ Church Episcopal in Exeter, New Hampshire. He served many years as the Junior Warden, a Vestry member, and a tenor in the choir. His love for choral music led him to the Rockingham Choral Society, where he enjoyed performing for the broader Seacoast community. Always sensitive to the needs of others, Joe was often the first to greet new parishioners and families to make them feel welcome in the congregation. Alongside his son Dominic, Joe designed, installed, and operated the live-streaming system for all church services, establishing an ongoing and accessible worship experience that parishioners will enjoy for years to come. Joe also poured his creative talents and theatrical background into the Christ Church-supported youth theater program, The Pine Street Players. Perhaps his favorite ministry, Joe designed and built Broadway-worthy sets for countless productions over the last decade.
As the Director of Engineering at PICA Manufacturing Solutions, Joe was a cornerstone of the team for 23 years. He excelled in diverse roles throughout his career, including Prototype Engineering, Sales Engineering, Program Management, and Applications Engineering. Joe was an invaluable leader, mentor, and friend to many within the company and across the industry.
In recent years, Joe began to pursue his passion for college and professional sports, working as a broadcast camera operator. What began with college hockey at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts, quickly expanded to other collegiate and professional sports around New England. As with everything he put his hand to, Joe quickly excelled and became a pivotal member of the production teams. He was particularly proud of his work broadcasting the Boston Fleet (Professional Women's Hockey League) and the Massachusetts Pirates (Professional Indoor Football League).
Joe's selfless nature was unmatched. There was no person Joe encountered, known or unknown to him, that he did not endeavor to help in some way.
