Loving father of Brian (Kathryn); cherished grandfather of Kyle and Logan; caring son of the late Frank and Bessie.
Dear brother of the late Fran (Joyce); beloved brother-in-law of the late Dee (Don) Knight and Ray (Marsha) Hardin.
Adored Uncle to Philip (Karen) Knight, Darlene (Lee) Horn, Matt and Ryan Hardin, Lynn (Hal) Murphy, and Karen Stark
Great Uncle to Brad (Daisy) Horn, Samantha Horn, Breanna (Danielle) Horn, Cullen and Erin Knight, Emma Stark, Jenna and Jake Murphy.
A car enthusiast since he first started working on them with his brother Fran. Joe served as membership and treasurer of the Chicagoland Avanti Owners Association for over 20 years following his purchase of his dream car, an Avanti. He was also treasurer and membership chair of the Illinois Antique Automobile Club.
Joseph proudly served in the US Army National Guard from 1966-1972.
An avid fisherman and supporter of the Boy Scouts, Joe will be remembered for his kind loving nature, his smile, infectious laugh, and quick wit. A great husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Visitation Sunday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave. Darien with a Chapel Service to follow on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Int. Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make any donations to the Alzheimer's Association
