Bohumil "Bobby" Dolezal

Bohumil "Bobby" Dolezal, 86, of Gonzales, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025. He was born in Shiner, Texas on October 21, 1938, to his parents Francis Maly and Frank Dolezal, Sr.
In 1956, Bobby joined the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served 3 years in active service and another 3 as a Marine Reserve. Upon his return from the Marines, Bobby met Doris Marie Tichavsky through a good friend, and they later married in 1960. Together, they raised their two children Glen and Terri Lynn and shared 63 years of marriage.
Bobby worked as a laborer at Kasper Wire Works in Shiner for 18 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and always kept himself busy with small projects around the house. Bobby loved playing poker with family and friends and always had polka music playing around the house. Bobby and Doris enjoyed their retirement and often traveled in their camper; they visited their favorite places to gamble like Las Vegas and Louisiana. Together they also enjoyed fishing and made many trips to Rockport. He also had many fond memories of playing poker with his brother Marvin and sister-in-law Linda at their house. Lastly, he enjoyed the company of his four-legged companions, his dogs Possum, Sassy Sue and Tootsie. He is survived by his children Glen Dolezal and Terri Lynn Orsak (Richard), his four grand-children Justin Orsak, Matthew Orsak, Robin Dolezal and Nickolas Dolezal, and his two brothers Henry Dolezal and Marvin Dolezal (Linda). He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Frank Dolezal, Sr., his adoring wife Doris Marie Dolezal, his daughter in law Jo Ann Dolezal, and two brothers Frank Dolezal, Jr. (Francis) and Eugene Dolezal. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
