Joseph Anthony "Joe" Durand Sr.

Joseph A Durand Sr., age 80, passed away on October 21, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was born on December 16, 1943, to Edward and Lucille (Meyer) Durand.
Growing up, Joe attended Siren and Coomer schools. Shortly after, Joe joined the army where he became a part of the 101st Airborne Division and made 34 successful jumps.
Joe married the love of his life, Barbara, on July 15, 1967, in Hibbing, MN.
Joe was employed for 50 years in the construction and demolition industry and was very well known with his expertise. He looked out for his employees and made sure they were always safe while he was a superintendent for several construction companies. Joe made such an impact that he's had sons and grandchildren follow his footsteps.
Joe was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. He was a perfectionist in everything that he did, especially when it came to woodworking and building. His last project was building a sauna for Barb.
Joe is survived by his wife, Barbarba; children, Stephanie, Lisa, Steven, Joe Jr, and David; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Durand, Kenneth Durand, Ronald Durand, and Bruce Durand; sisters, Bonnie Lowrie, Katherine Maki, and Barbara Pabst; and his sidekick through so many years, his dog, Princess.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lucille, and children, Scott David Durand and James Edward Durand.
A memorial service for Joseph will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Hertel, WI, at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lakeview Hertel Cemetery.
