Joseph "Joe" Findley passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his home. Joe was born in Washington County, Virginia on October 21, 1941, to the late William and Neta Findley.
Joe graduated from Meadowview High School and upon his eighteenth birthday, he joined the United States Navy. He served most of his military career on the Randolph Air Craft Carrier in the Mediterranean, as well as the naval air station in Naples, Italy. Upon discharge, he went to work for Pratt-Whitney Air Craft in Hertford, Connecticut. After several years, he moved to Richmond, Virginia and drove for McClean Trucking. He returned home to Washington County, Virginia where he retired from the Meadowview United Postal Service.
Joe is survived by his brother Don Findley of Bluff City, Tennessee and several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A crypt side service will follow in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum with Pastor Kenny Bolling officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to Yellow Spring church, 27365 Yellow Springs Road, Meadowview, Virginia 24361.
