Joseph R. Grassi, 82, of Hampton, NH, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, NH.
Born and raised in Methuen, MA, he was the son of the late Peter and Florence (Trussell) Grassi.
Joseph started his career at Bolton Emerson before moving on to Raytheon, where he worked for many years. He lived most of his life in Salem, NH, before retiring to Hampton, NH, where he embraced the coastal lifestyle. Joseph was a passionate New England sports fan and loved cheering on his favorite teams, especially the Red Sox.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Joseph treasured time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his love, kindness, and memories will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
Joseph will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Christine Smolag and her husband, Peter of Hampton, NH, sons, Joseph Grassi, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, Keith Grassi and his wife, Kelly of Manchester, NH, sister, Carolyn Harris, brother, Michael Grassi, twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his cherished wife of forty-three years, Constance (Norton) Grassi and his brother, Peter Grassi, Jr.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to calling hours from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. A service will be held on Thursday, February 6, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
