Joe Grimes was a lover of life! You could always find Joe doing what he loved best. Whether it be at the ballpark throwing his famous knuckleball, shucking oysters for family and friends, or taking time to listen to a dear friend or loved one. Joe made an impact on everyone he encountered in life. And will always be remembered for the loving kind soul he is.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jean Grimes.
He is survived by his fiancée, Shannon Townsend; brothers, Tom Grimes (Laurie) and Mark Grimes; sister, Terri Lewis; nieces: Cindy Lewis, Tracy Brown (Jeremy), and Brandi Grimes; nephew, Nathan Grimes; great-nephews: Rylyn Lewis, Adriel Brown, and Malachi Brown; and great-niece, Elisia Brown.
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Saturday, August 19 starting at 11:00am; services immediately to follow officiated by Chaplain Mark Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Foundation at ALS.org
