Joseph A. Guggino

Joseph A. Guggino, 83, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Tore’s Home in Brevard. Born in Fort Myers, FL, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Helen Shirah Guggino.

He was a 1959 graduate of Daniel high School in Clemson, SC before receiving his bachelor’s degree at Furman University (1963) where he was also a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

A faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he had previously served on the Pastoral Counsel and as an usher. He had also been a volunteer mediator for the Center for Dialogue where he was committed to helping to resolve disputes in a peaceful manner. Joe was also a member of the Serenity Group in Brevard for 24 years.

His loving survivors include his wife of 51 years, Annette Guggino; children: Mary, Angela and Michael and wife Rebecca; and grandchildren Luca, Rocco and Birdie.

A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, with Father Shawn O’Neal and Father Joe Mulligan officiating.
