It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Richard Honn Sr., our devoted father, active community member, and proud veteran, on August 17, 2025.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Joseph was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School and the University of Notre Dame. As well, he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Marines.

Joe spent much of his professional career working in the textbook industry, but it was seventeen years of dedicated service to Edwards Hospital in Naperville, Illinois, where his commitment to excellence touched so many lives that he was often most fond of remembering.

Always interested in community, Joseph was an active volunteer in Woodridge and Naperville, Illinois, and a proud member of the Naperville Kiwanis. His selfless spirit and willingness to volunteer enriched the lives of those in need in the communities around him.

An enthusiastic sports fan, Joe cheered faithfully for his favorite teams: the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Guardians. Sharing his thoughts on the most recent game, rule change or recent unbelievable play was always on Joe's mind.

Joe is survived by his sons-Christopher, Robert, Joseph Jr., James, and Timothy-as well as eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He will be interred alongside his devoted wife, Eileen C. Honn (Joecken), at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, Ohio.

Joe's unwavering love, service, and kindness will be remembered by all whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
