Joseph D. "JD" Joergens, 71, of Evansville, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. He was born September 8, 1952 in Evansville to late Orville N. and Georgiana (Jung) Joergens.
J.D.was the owner of Evansville Appliance Parts, Inc. for more than 20 years and worked several years as a preplanning specialist at Ziemer Funeral Home. He was a member of Good Shepherd Church, serving on the school board for 2 terms, and was involved in the building project renovation of the school. He was an avid bowler and Nascar fan and a lifelong lover of all music, especially guitars.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shara Lyn (Leach) Joergens; sons; Brian (Cary) Joergens of New York City, NY and Benjamin (Brooke) Joergens of Evansville; daughter, Kelly (Jordan) Wilkinson of Evansville; and 11 beautiful grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville N. and Georgiana Joergens; and brothers, Donald and William Joergens.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2 2024 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 N. Stockwell Ave., Evansville Wednesday, July 3, 20204, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 N. Stockwell Rd., Evansville, IN 47715, the Sisters of St. Benedict, 802 E. 10th St., Ferdinand, IN 47532 or Tri-State Multiple Sclerosis, 971 S. Kenmore Drive, Evansville, IN 47714.
