Joseph F. Jones, known affectionately as Joe to his friends and family, passed away at the age of 89 on May 12, 2025, in
Ewing, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, on March 1, 1936, Joe was a man whose life was marked by dedication, service, and the warmth of his personality. Joe bravely battled cancer with the same courage and dignity that characterized his entire life.
He was a graduate of Ewing High School and went on to serve his country with honor as a member of the US Marine Corps. Following his military service, Joe dedicated over 30 years to working at PSE&G and spent another 20 years contributing to the success of Volvo of Princeton. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew him.
Joe was predeceased by his loving parents, Oscar and Marie Theresa Cenite Jones, and his brothers Oscar Jones, Mark Jones, Robert Jones, Richard Eastmead, and Ronnie Eastmead. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Kathleen Jones, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. His legacy continues through his sister, Elizabeth Udijohn; his sons, Anthony (Susan) Jones and Michael (Tracy) Jones; his daughters, Theresa Jones and Lisa Jones; and his adored grandchildren, Alora, Nicholas (Leah), and Natalie Jones, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Joe's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. An avid golfer, he could often be found on the greens, perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of his fellow players. His love for fishing and hunting was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. Joe's membership in numerous clubs and organizations, including Trenton Elks 105, Ewing AC, Penn-Ewing Rod and Gun Club, Lanutti's Hunting Club, American Legion Post 314, and the Marine Corps League, spoke to his commitment to community and his friendly disposition.
Those who knew Joe would describe him as loving, friendly, and incredibly handy. He was the kind of person who would offer his skills and assistance without a second thought, enriching the lives of those around him. His ability to fix, build, or create was matched only by his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. Joe's presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His laughter, stories, and unwavering support were the hallmarks of a life well-lived. Joe's influence will be felt for generations to come, and his memory will be treasured as a source of joy and inspiration.
