Joseph "Butch" Kosco, Jr. Obituary
Joseph F. (Butch) Kosco Jr. (aka "Iron Joe"), 84 of Canal Fulton, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024. He was born in Barberton and had been a lifelong resident of the Canal Fulton area. Butch was the former owner of Kosco's Garage for over 50 years, leaving his legacy to sons Bruce and Don. He was a member of SS Philip and James Catholic Church (Canal Fulton). Butch took pride in the fact that no one could out-work him in the garden or pick the amount of corn he could. He cut down any tree that stood in his way and chopped the wood to heat the houses of his family. He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph F. Kosco, Sr. and Mary Kosco; in-laws, Teresa and Bob Burger; sister, Martha Bishop and brother-in-law, Bill Bishop; sister, Betty Smith and brother-in-law, Bob Smith; and brother-in-law, Bill Fath. Butch is survived by his loving wife, Judy (Burger) Kosco of 62 years; sons, Ron (Kate), Don (Melissa), Bruce (Melanie) and Dean (Sissy); grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica), Aaron (Megan), Hannah (Jeff), Logan (Abby), Hunter (Evie) and Austin; and great-grandchildren, Carson, Caden, Kentley, the joys of his life. He was a proud supporter of all his grandkids in all their sporting events. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, 11:00am at SS Philip and James Catholic Church, 412 High St. NE, Canal Fulton, Fr. Thomas Cebula celebrant. Burial at Manchester Cemetery. Visitation FRIDAY, 5pm to 8pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Butch's name can be made to St. Jude or the Wounded Warrior Project.
