Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend
April 11, 1948 – July 27, 2025
Joseph "Joe" "Goose" Lazore passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was surrounded by the love of his family and the deep affection of all who knew him.
Joe was born in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, and moved to Illinois at the age of 22. He began a long and dedicated career with Northwest Airlines as a customer service agent, where he worked for over 40 years before retiring.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Sandra (Doyle) Lazore. Joe and Sandy shared a beautiful life together, traveling to many cherished places, including Sandy's beloved homeland of Scotland, where they spent time with her wonderful family.
He was a proud and loving father to his daughters Amy (Lazore) Zarr (Justin) and Jill Lazore Enders (Jeremy), and a deeply adored "Bapa" to his six grandchildren: Joey, Bella, and Jake Zarr, and Giuliana, Jeremiah, and Josh Enders. Joe's love for his grandchildren was boundless-he treasured their visits, playing Wii, solving puzzles with Joey, and spending time with all of them in his special "room." He followed their sports and activities with joy, especially Joey's baseball and football games, which brought back memories of his own love for the game.
Joe is also lovingly remembered by his former stepson, William (Billy) Lunebach, from his first marriage to Janice Lazore. Joe was a caring stepfather to Billy for many years and remained a meaningful part of his life.
Joe is also survived by his stepson Sheldon David Linhart and was preceded in death by his stepson Mark Linhart. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Mary Ann Lazore of Johnsonburg, PA; cousins Joseph and Edward Lazore, also of Pennsylvania; and by a large circle of dear friends who meant the world to him.
Joe was a true sports enthusiast, a lifelong Penn State football fan, and a proud supporter of the Green Bay Packers. He loved attending games and sharing that joy with his daughters over the years.
Joe will be remembered for his warmth, humor, loyalty, and the deep love he showed to his family and friends. The number of stories, laughs, and memories shared about Joe is endless. His legacy of kindness, love, and dedication to those he held dear will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
He will be missed more than words can ever express.
