Resident of Chicago for many years
Visitation for Matthew R. Ferguson, 53, will be Thursday, November 20 from 9:30am – 10:30am before Mass, Christian Burial starts at 10:30am at St. Gregory of Nyssa Parish, St. Marcelline Campus, 822 Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
Matthew was born March 17, 1972 in Chicago to James and Donna Ferguson, and he peacefully passed away November 15, 2025 in Chicago.
Matt will be always remembered by those closest to him as one who brought warmth and laughter to all who knew him. If you were lucky enough to be his close relative or wise enough to be his friend you would have enjoyed his energy, wit, and delight to be around. All of which you would have enjoyed at group table games or in his devotion to Chicago's sports teams.
He will be fondly remembered for his willingness to help others, his love for spending time with family, fishing and playing chess with his son Bailey and his love for dogs.
Loving father of Bailey; beloved son of James and Donna; cherished brother of Cassie (Bryan) Ashley; adored friend and neighbor to many. He is preceded in death by Uncle Denny Glascott, Uncle Frank Soluri, Uncle Willie Kovacs.
