Joseph X. Lochiatto, 71, of Abington, Massachusetts died on April 9th at the Brockton VA Hospice Center.
Born in Brighton, Massachusetts in 1952, he was the third born of Mario and Marjorie Lochiatto.
He proudly served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne. After the Army, he worked at the VA Hospital in Jamaica Plain for 38 years as a Radiation Therapist. He was able to retire early and enjoyed his free time at his house in Maine. He was married to his soulmate Jean for 40 years, his perfect match.
He leaves behind his son, Craig, and daughter-in-law Chelsea as well as their two sons, Nico and Tatum. Joe loved the title "Grampy" and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. He is the brother of late Michael Lochiatto, Ronnie Lochiatto, Debbie Gatta and survived by siblings Gerry Pomponio and Johnny Lochiatto.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, April 14th from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 15th at 10:00 AM at the funeral chapel. A burial will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
To celebrate Joe's life, there will be a lunch in his honor at the VFW Post 697 in Whitman after the cemetery from 12:00-3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the VA Fisher House or the Abington Fire Department.
