Joseph Steven Padilla, Jr., beloved son, brother, and friend, departed this life at the tender age of 18, on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Born October 5, 2006, in Weatherford, Texas, to Joseph Padilla, Sr. and Jodie (Chaney) Cerveny, he was a senior at Weatherford High School.
With his easy going and funny personality, Joseph was a mixture of joy and sunshine. A devoted family member, he embraced his role as a big brother, always ready to provide protection, love, and support.
His passions were varied and vibrant. Joseph enjoyed good food, playing basketball, and fixing up his truck.
Nature was his sanctuary; he cherished every moment spent exploring the great outdoors. He enjoyed watching movies and listening to music in his downtime, but more than anything, Joseph loved spending time with his family. His beautiful smile and infectious humor will be imprinted on our hearts for eternity.
As we remember Joseph, let us celebrate the joy he brought to our lives and the love he shared so freely. His memory will forever be anchored in the laughter he inspired and the warmth he radiated. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and adventure that will continue to inspire those he touched.
Joseph is survived by his mother, Jodie Lou Cerveny and her husband, Danny, Jr. of Weatherford, Texas; father, Joseph Steven Padilla, Sr. and his wife, Anyssa of Albuquerque, New Mexico; siblings, Julia Padilla, Jayla Padilla, Everly Cerveny, Radyn Cerveny, and Wade Cerveny; paternal grandparents, Jerry Padilla and Yvette Gurule; maternal grandmother, Laurie Artwohl; uncles and aunts, Jerry Padilla, III and his wife, Deanne, Naomi Deblassie, Nathan Sanchez, Mollie Chaney, and Ryan Chaney; and cousins, Isaiah Arriaga, Roman Arriaga, Micah Arriaga, Nevaeh Yarborough, Jenna Padilla, and Jizelle Padilla.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas, with a time of visitation prior to the service at 9:00 a.m. Following the service, burial will take place at East Greenwood Cemetery.
If sending floral arrangements, incorporating roses would make the tribute more personal and celebrate Joseph's memory and spirit.
