Joseph Padilla Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ferrara Colonial Mortuary - Orange on Mar. 31, 2026.
Joseph Zachery Padilla was truly one of a kind-a gentle, loving soul whose kindness and selflessness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2026, in Long Beach, California, leaving behind a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him most.

Born on November 7, 1995, in San Bernardino, California, Joseph grew into someone who valued connection above all else. He had a natural way of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. Whether you were family, a close friend, or someone he had just met, Joseph gave his time, energy, and heart freely.

He was deeply loved by his grandparents, Louis and Dolores Padilla, who helped raise him and meant the world to him. He was a devoted son to Mark Padilla. Also, Joseph shared a special and unbreakable bond with his brother, Christopher Padilla-a relationship built on loyalty, laughter, and long conversations that could shift from joking around to deep, meaningful topics in an instant. Lastly, he loved his older half-siblings, Eric and Nicholas, and his mother, Judith Baker.

Family was everything to Joseph. He never missed a gathering if he could help it, always showing up with his warm presence and genuine smile. He especially cherished time spent with his Great-Aunt Teri, including the joy of celebrating her 99th birthday and attending his cousin Joshua's wedding-memories he held close to his heart. His extended family, including his great-aunt Teresa Padilla, his aunts Gloria, Charlene, and Liana, his uncle Louie, and many cousins, will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Joseph was raised in Orange and attended Panorama Elementary School, Santiago Middle School, and graduated from El Modena High School. He was a cook by trade, and his love for cooking began in his grandmother's kitchen, where he discovered not only how to prepare food, but how to care for others through it. Cooking became more than a job-it was one of the many ways he expressed love. He took pride in what he created and found real happiness in sharing it with others.

Outside of work, Joseph lived life with passion. He loved music, especially electronic music, and found joy in concerts and festivals. If you knew him, you could probably picture him in his Vans and his "Beyond Wonderland" jacket, completely in his element. He had a vibrant energy that was unmistakably his.

He also had a huge heart for animals. His dog, Phil, was a constant companion, and he loved spending time dog-sitting Coco for his cousin Anica. Those simple, everyday moments brought him happiness.

Joseph was the kind of person who showed up for people. He quietly cared for his grandparents, helping with anything they needed-from working on the property to maintaining their pool. He never did it for recognition; it was simply who he was. He gave of himself without expecting anything in return.

What made Joseph so special was his authenticity. He was real, open, and genuine in a way that is rare. People were drawn to him because they knew he was sincere. He loved deeply, cared fully, and made others feel safe simply by being himself.

Losing Joseph is something that will never make sense. But what remains is the love he gave, the memories he created, and the lasting impact he had on so many lives. He will always be remembered for his kindness, his heart, and the light he brought into this world.

He will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
